Republic of Olivenza

It was requested a flag for an independent republic in Olivenza. Olivenza was, for centuries, one of most important Portuguese border cities. During the Treaty of Badajoz (1801), Portugal, under the coercion of being invaded, agreed with the cession of the city to Spain, but the invasion of Portugal by Napoleonic Spain made the treaty, under its own terms, null. During the Congress of Vienna, Spain compromised with the devolution of Olivenza, that never happened. Due to that, Portugal officially claims it as Portuguese territory under Spanish trusteeship. On the timeline I think, the Republic of Olivenza would be a short-lived attempt of putting the region under Portuguese sphere of influence (a referendum hadn't time to be called).

The coat of arms has a castle (in reference to Olivenza Castle) and an olive tree (canting) present in the many coats of arms attributed to the city during its history. The green and red represents the Republic of Portugal (in this timeline, the main supporter of new republic), while golden castle on red is similar to Castile coat of arms. The background is in a shade similar to olive green, again canting.
